Music Teacher
Ariel joined the staff of The Emerson School as a k/1 teacher in 2006. Over her many years at Emerson, she's also taught 2/3, 4/5, and been the teaching and curriculum supervisor. She's very happy in her current role as music teacher where she gets to integrate music into project work, explore music theory, composition, performance, and general silliness with ALL the kids at Emerson!
Ariel holds a bachelor's in anthropology, and master's in education, and doctorate in educational leadership. When she's not teaching music, you might find her teaching preservice teachers at Pacific University or helping kids (and grown-ups!) find the perfect book at A Children's Place Bookstore. Beyond work, she loves building legos or dancing with her kids, making music, working in her garden, reading, playing board games, and taking walks with her husband.
