Instructional Support Teacher
Hello! I began teaching professionally as an ESL instructor for refugees in 2005, and the following year I began teaching afterschool arts and environmental sciences in an elementary school in SE Portland. The profoundly joyful experience of working with elementary school learners stayed with me and, after many years of travelling and working in the arts, I was pulled to return to teaching. I earned a master's degree (MEd) at PSU where there is a focus on arts integration, educating for social justice, and cultivating safe and inspiring classrooms. I couldn't be happier to be part of the Emerson family now!
